LOCAL INDEPENDENT FILM COMPANY TO SHOOT SCENE FOR UPCOMING MOVIE AT HISTORIC WILLOWBROOK VILLAGE

Westbrook-based Unicovia Pictures will be filming a scene for its upcoming feature-length fantasy movie Falcyyr at historic Willowbrook Village in Newfield, Maine on Wednesday May 30, 2012.

Westbrook, Maine, 26 May 2012 — Writer/director Ahura Z. Diliiza, owner of Unicovia Pictures in Westbrook, Maine was looking for a location to film a scene for his current film project, Falcyyr. He needed an old fashioned one-room schoolhouse for the back-story of one of the film’s main characters.

A friend told him about Willowbrook, a nineteenth century village museum located in Newfield, Maine. After seeing a photo of the schoolhouse on their website he knew it would be the perfect place for the scene. He contacted the director of Willowbrook, John Michalowski Jr. with his request.

Michalowski agreed to let Diliiza to film the scene in the Fenderson Schoolhouse, a replica of an 1839 South Parsonsfield one-room schoolhouse. Being an authentic nineteenth century structure it is not wired for electricity so Diliiza was told that any electricity needed for the shoot would have to be brought in via the neighboring building.

“We are very excited to have Willowbrook as a resource” says Diliiza. “It is a beautiful location and everything is already set up for us in terms of set and structure”.

Diliiza was surprised to learn that no one had ever filmed there before. He hopes that its inclusion in his film will bring Willowbrook some positive exposure. He has also agreed to do a short featurette on the museum that they can use for promotion.

Diliiza understands what it’s like to rely upon the generosity of people to keep your dream alive. As an independent filmmaker he is also fundraising to raise capital for his project.

“It’s tough when you have big dreams and a small wallet” says Diliiza. “But you just have to keep going. We all do what we can to help each other out”.

Unicovia Pictures released its first feature length film, Anikruya, in late 2009. Falcyyr will be it’s second feature-length film and is the longtime dream project of Diliiza. Falcyyr is a fantasy about four women who are plucked by Fate at the time of their deaths to become the legendary Valkyrie.
