Light of Knowing Project - Locations!

The OurTvSpace "Light of Knowing" Project is seeking locations for its shoot in August. We have created this Post to park photos of possible locations for the monastery scene and other scenes which we will post information about soon! If you know of any medieval looking buildings churches, please post photos here or let us know as we value the thoughts and wisdom of the OFS community!

The photo above is of the Old Stone Church in W. Boylsotn, MA! Here is the Flickr Link to more photos of the Old Stone Church!

The following photos are of Notre Dame in Southbridge, MA :

We don't want the look to be too "pretty".

We might need to make the look more "grainy" to pretty this location down.

If you had the task of counting the cherub/angel images at Notre Dame - you would need all weekend!

Castle Hill is breathtaking, but the rates are through the roof:

This isn't a building, but it sounds like a hell of a space. It might be worth some further investigation..... maybe even a scene written around it. :-)

Doug,
Per my son, The left side is stairs that go up to the bridge at the the top. I haven't been across this bridge, so I don't really know what is on the other side, but the entire building is like an old castle or fort, since the walls are rock and the windows have bars on them. You can keep going up the stairs to the roof, but we haven't been allowed to do that in the past. I'm not sure if there are rooms, but there is a sort of prison room on the bottom right, and the areas at the top of the stairs and the bridge could be sort of like rooms.

Hey Richard - I used to run past Bancroft Tower when I was in Worcester! Has a great view too. Might be able to use it for an exterior. Does it have a stairway inside still?

We will def need to ask you questions about the cloistered life, Richard!! Plus - you have a good "monk" look! :))

Bancrot Tower is in Worcester. It may be in some disrepair. A neighbor of one of my son's friends has the key. I don't know if it has any large rooms.

Doug, as someone who spent three years in the monastery, I am always available to answer questions about the cloistered life.
