Thanks to all the Cast and Crew of FoodPerfect.Tv - which shot its first episode in the quest for FoodPerfect Pizza at Enrico's Brick Oven Pizzeria on Sunday, March 29, 2009 in Sturbridge, MA! It was a FoodPerfect Day for sure and there was a lot of cheezy stuff on set! Part of the Team shot on location at Enrico's and then the whole team gathered at OurTvSpace Studio in Sturbridge to shoot promo photos and videos. Craft Services Included GIant Pizza Cookies, Pizza Bread, and Party Pizza! The footage was High Def and stunning as the Team captured the glow of the Brick Oven and the authentic making of Brick Oven Pizza! In the process, the Team made some new friends including "Freight Train" and "Dylan" who will both be in the show! Jeff Jennings was new to the Team and provided valuable assistance and great comments. DP was Alex (think Billy Walsh from Entourage). The FoodPerfect Team consists of 3 groups of Hosts who will all visit different restaurants in the area in the quest for FoodPerfect with the first quest for Perfect Pizza! Italian Brick Oven Pizza Artist at Enrico's! Favorite Pizza: The Marguerite! Did you know that The Marguerite Pizza was named after Italian Queen Marguerite who had never tried Pizza so the Chef made 3 Different Kinds including one with the colors of the Italian Flag White (Mozarella), Red (Fresh Tomatoes), and Green (Fresh Bazil). That one was Queen Marguerite's favorite and when she asked what is was called - he said "Marguerite"! Smart Guy!

Here is some nice food writing that Melinda got from a cookbook called "Eco-Cuisine" by Ron Pickarski.
"The essential function of art is moral. Not aesthetic, not decorative, not pastime and recreation, but moral...a passionate, implicit morality, not didactic. A morality which changes the blood, rather than the mind. Change the blood first, the mind follows in the wake." In culinary art, the food literally changes our blood by going through a form of transubstantiation (or digestion). It is an illusion to think of food as something that we consume simply for calories and nutrients. Food relates to art, culture, econonics, ecology, religion and society. Food is central to the celebration of life and the soul of humanity's social life. It affects all five senses (touch, smell, taste, sight, and hearing) as an art form. Food is the art form and the plate is the culinarian's canvas. Deepak Chopra calls food recycled energy and our bodies are one step in the process. I call it the life blood of the earth that flows through our bodies in the form of culinary art. Creating that river of energy that transforms our bodies and spirits is what inspires me.
Also-
The tension between love and knowledge is harmoniously solved in the symbol of food. In the preparation and eating of food, human and divine action is required. Matter and spirit are united in the food by which they subsist.
