AUDITIONS FOR SHORT FILM "ERIC'S DATE" SAT FEB 11, 2012 IN SOUTHWICK MA

ERIC'S DATE IS A COMEDY-DRAMA. DOWN-ON-HIS-LUCK ERIC TAKES A CHANCE ON A BLIND DATE AND ACCEPTS AN OFFER TO DINNER WITH THE GORGEOUS GRETCHEN.

THIS WILL BE A 3 DAY 16mm SHOOT.

ROLES:

ERIC
. A typical twenty-something; overeducated in useless knowledge supplied by an unpractical college curriculum; but as yet untouched by the pains of the real world. A sort of Everyman; introspective and quiet: he is at times hard to read. He has recently ended a relationship that had caused him quite some hurt; hurt that he has yet to fully get over.

GRETCHEN

Beautiful. Twenties. She seems to glide through life. While she is clearly out of Eric’s league, there is a gentle kindness within her—an interest, which engages and gives him hope. Very conscious of her appearance, but doesn’t let it be known. She and Eric are mutual friends with Paul, who sets up the date. Her connection to Paul isn’t clear; same with her past. From the moment she arrives, she is simply a beacon of light; one Eric can not see behind. Charismatic, charming, and alluring—she will draw attention in any crowd.
