New Project - Polly and the Murderers

Hi everyone, Shelly here. I'm blogging today about a short film that I wrote and will be directing in a few weeks called "Polly and the Murderers." It's the story of a lonely, agoraphobic woman that corresponds with men in prison, hoping to make friends. She ends up learning how to tackle some of her fears and takes a step towards living her life more fully as a result.

It was an interesting shoot, we were not allowed to wear any make-up at all. Our clothes were ragged and dirty and some people were even made to look dirtier. This actually affected some people who were used to being well groomed and made up. I still hear actors commenting about playing a dread, with some even saying… Continue

A Video Interview w/ Filmmaker Katrina Browne (Traces of the Trade)

We had a chance to sit down recently and chat with Katrina Browne, WGBH Filmmaker in Residence from 2003 to 2005 and director of Traces of the Trade -- a Sundance-accepted feature-length documentary on how Katrina dealt with the realization that her New England family were actually the largest slave trading family in American history.
