I was having this discussion with several people in different forums and oddly enough, someone from one of the films chimed in about costs (although that text is not pasted here)

We were discussing which films made it to "Mainstream" or AKA The Big Show  - National Theatrical Release.  the discussion led to "original" budget"

Tech, Money and Entertainment stated this as of late and recent films:

My most detailed shoot to date.  A 90 second ambient music video with 25 individual light set ups.  All props are either vintage or antique.  I have sunk an enormous amount of time into test shots, lighting diagrams and set decoration on this one.
