About Me:
Consider this an OPENING, a chance to share your FRESH ideas as the NEXT generation of independent and public media makers. Following the footsteps of WGBH's New Television Workshop, which brought video to life in an age of film, the WGBH Lab is a creative incubator. We encourage emerging talent, aided by the latest technology, to lead us into new ways of making and interacting with content. What remains the same is WGBH's commitment to SUBSTANCE, QUALITY, and INDEPENDENT VOICES.

The engine of the Lab is INNOVATION. In an age where any screen—your TV, your computer, your cell phone or PDA—is part of the media experience, we seek to develop content for these new "small screens." Pitch your story to Open Call, and take it from concept to completion. Don't have a camera? Sift through the Sand Box, loaded with rights-free archival footage, and see what happens when you mash it up. If you're ready to take your indie work to a new level, apply for a year as a Filmmaker in Residence.

The WGBH Lab stands at the intersection of broadband and broadcast. The creative results of the Lab may appear on WGBH TV, WGBH.org and, as our partnerships expand, more broadly on PBS.

By paving the way for original and diverse voices, the WGBH Lab helps define the role of public media in our new media democracy.

Welcome to YOUR public media.

Happy New Year! As you start to put all the holiday decorations away, we want you to start taking a closer look at those old items sitting around. We all have them, sitting in the attic or closet, passed down by a cousin’s cousin, estranged fathers, or a mothers, sister’s brother.

We hold on to them because they are a part of our family and because, we hope to someday pass them along to younger generations – even if all they become is… Continue

I checked everywhere myself and my mother did too. Why can't it be found? I think that's why we gave up. It was filmed in April 22, 2000. Do you think it was too long ago?

Thank you for all your help

Hi Brian,

Sorry, for the mix up on the name. The film was called "Turtle Song". It was filmed in year **2000** and was shot inside and outside a school. My mother believes it was in either Rosalinde or Brighton Elementary School. She isn't sure if it was a student film or not? My mom didn't know to get a copy or where to get one. She remember signing something and they mentioned that it was being filmed on a big screen. Maybe in Cambridge "Coolidge Conner"? I had a speaking roles and my mom was even in it as a teacher. The first scene was in a class room setting with a teacher reading to students. The other scene was in a school yard. The film was and educational film on "Bullying". I had to break up a fight and had to say Stop! Stop it now! I got between the two kids to stop break up a fight. I was just hoping to find it. I don't want to spend too much time, but it would be nice to see it and have it for my records and to finally add to my resume. Do you have access to old films? Thank you in advance.....

If you need an actress, I know a good one.....Ü

Hi Katrina,

Welcome to the site. I was almost seven when I did my first educational film in Boston. I tried locating it to keep for my records, but let it go for now. I had a hard time finding it since, I don't know the directors name. Could you help? Just recently, I was on PBS Kids for a Dragonfly Series. It will be out this fall. If you need an actress, I have many references.
