Profile Information

Are you in the Production Industry?
I've been acting in film, video and on stage for thirty five years. I'm a member of SAG, Aftra and Actors Equity.
Please Tell Us What You Would Like to Get from Being A Member of OurFilmSpace.com?
I'd love to develop new contacts in the growing film and video community of New England.
Tell Us About Your Interests?
I guess my main interests are in performing. I have my own business, Stars Science Theater, that brings enrichment programs on science to schools, museums and libraries around the US. In my spare time I like to garden, fix up homes and exercise in a vain attempt to keep my weight down.
About Me:
I originally studied to teach Physics and have a BS in Ed. After graduate school (two masters degrees) I spent ten years as a lecturer and photographer at the Charles Hayden Planetarium at Boston's Museum of Science.

I have appeared in about 100 plays over the years, including runs at Merrimack Rep, New Rep, the Charles Playhouse and many of the smaller houses here in New England and beyond. I don't know for sure how many films and videos I've appeared in, but my guess is over fifty, including both principle and background work.

Fathers

"Fathers" was shown at the SNOBS Film Festival. We had quite a good attendance and the film seemed well received. I was the only member of cast or crew to make it, except for the mother of the director, so I ended up taking Q&A after the session. The audience seemed most surprised to find there are actors with talent in New England. I couldn't decide whether this was a good thing or bad.

Four Winters in the can

I almost forgot to post this. We finished shooting "Four Winters" formerly known as "In the Name of the Son". We hopefully now have an end to the film, including the shooting of the un-named man. Felipe and Joe are off to internships in LaLa land and they've taken the film with them to re/finish editing and to have a friend score it. Hopefully when they return in the Winter we'll have a showing. (I don't know why we're calling it "Four Winters" it only took two?)

Guardian is in and she's looking for bad guys.

I just got a copy of "Guardian", a BU project about a female super hero who is also a newspaper reporter. I played the editor, who takes her off a story about city hall corruption when one of his other reporters turns up dead. My part was fairly small, but my decision pushed the heroine over the edge to become "the Guardian".

Kind of a cross between "Superman" and "The Matrix", there were fights and murders. It was lots of fun working with a bunch of very talented student filmmakers. Hopefully… Continue

It still lives!

I got to see a very rough cut of "In the Name of the Son", now known as "Four Winters" on Sunday. There was some really nice camera work as well as some pretty good acting. Without the ending on film the story falls apart, but we may still find a way to shoot the ending and finish the film (see earlier posts).

Right now it is going to be a trailer, which I haven't seen yet, so that it can be shown at the Fitchburg State College student film festival later this Spring. Hopefully more to come.

Everythings on hold.

Well between the ice storm that shut down Gardner (and most of the middle of the state) and the three snow storms in a row, we're on a hold. The only way we could possibly match the background at all would be to head south and from what I've heard way south. The students have all gone home for Xmas vacation, so I trimmed the beard. Let us hope for a January thaw. More to come, I hope.

We're Back in Business.

Got an email with a schedule for shooting Saturday and possibly Sunday if we can't finish everything. The camera is either fixed or replaced. Same shots as last week, so things should go fast, but there is an ice storm predicted for northern Worcester County tonight. I'm hoping for a good day without the ice. I need a haircut and beard trim before I can put myself in for War 04 or anything else that doesn't require a scruffy appearance.

Hey Mike,
Did you get the cut of the western we sent out? Let me know what you think. We still want to shoot some things here and there because there is a lot to be explained still. Are you available at all in the first half of July?
