Profile Information

Are you in the Production Industry?
I'm first and foremost an actor, so I spend the majority of time in front of the camera--however, I'm also heavily involved in the production side of filmmaking as well.

When I'm not in a scene, you may find me running boom, holding the bounce, moving lights, cord-wrangling, or anything else needed at the time. I aim to be the 'Johnny on the Spot' whenever possible.

I also do a little makeup and effects work when needed--burns, bruises, bleeding, cuts, abrasions, etc.

Please Tell Us What You Would Like to Get from Being A Member of OurFilmSpace.com?
I think networking is one of the keys to success in this business. Social websites like this (and others) allow fellow performers, production houses, and those interesting in casting to get a look at 'who's who' in their area.
Tell Us About Your Interests?
My main interests are acting and computer graphic design and illustration. I also fancy things like a nice glass of wine or a hearty micro-brew, a good book, laughing uncontrollably, making good movies with great friends, Terry Gilliam films, and my wonderful wife, the lovely and talented Sarah Reed (aka. Sarah Nicklin).
About Me:
In his earlier years, Michael took to the stage, performing in scholastic, community and dinner theater. Starring in such plays as Harvey, Two Crooks and a Lady, The Serpent, and many other obscure productions.

Shortly after, his love for cinema took hold and his focus turned to film. Discounting the hundreds of shorts he made with himself and his family, his legit work began with a little zombie feature called 'LIVING DEAD WORLD', shot in Michigan by Evil Genius Entertainment. After moving to Rhode Island shortly after, this paved the way for many other features including his first nationally distributed film from Scorpio Film Releasing, 'BEYOND THE DUNWICH HORROR', directed by Richard Griffin, who Michael has gone on to work on four additional features with.

Although a smaller community, Michael has found himself very busy in the New England area. In a four year span, living in Rhode Island, he has landed lead and principle roles in almost two dozen features and shorts, including a few webseries.

Currently Michael is starring in THE DISCO EXORCIST, a 1979 period horror feature, shooting in New England through 2010 by Scorpio Film Releasing. Also in the works is a short entitled 'HIS TAKE ON HER' directed by John DeVault, and a new webseries entitled 'WORKING TITLE' being produced by 12 Gauge Productions which will debut its pilot episode Fall of 2010.

Several premieres are soon to screen in New England: ATOMIC BRAIN INVASION (Sept 10 & 11th), produced by Scorpio Film Releasing and directed by Richard Griffin (You can find more info, as well as purchase tickets for the premiere on the SFR website - www.scorpiofilmreleasing.net). And BIRDTALK (screening at the Pawtucket Film Festival), produced by Itchy Feet Films in association with Scorpio Film Releasing and directed by Richard Griffin.

In addition, Michael hosts the RI Film Actors Meetup Group (who meet monthly) along side Sarah Nicklin. You can find more info about the group here:http://acting.meetup.com/365/

Tim Fife of Cinema Suicide has this to say about Michael: "The acting caliber in the film is also above and beyond it’s peers, notably the work of Michael Reed (Kenny) who has the chops and the looks of someone that could be a future favorite genre actor. "

Richard Griffin of Scorpio Film Releasing made this comment: "This dude can act like a mofo, plus he's hardworking, intelligent and prepared.."

LIZBETH -- Lizzie Borden Documentary Picked-up by PBS.

Hello everyone.

Just wanted to promote a documentary I was involved with that just got picked up by PBS.

It's called LIZBETH, and it's about Lizzie Borden. For those who don't know, she's the girl who 'took an ax, and gave her mother forty whacks.' Creepy tale. No one knows for sure what really happened, but it was brutal. She was never proven guilty.

I play one of the supporting roles in it, as do many local friends of mine (including th

BY CHANCE -- webseries -- new episode I worked on.

Hey everyone. Some of you may know about Beyond Measure Productions and their awesome webseries entitled 'BY CHANCE', some of you may not...this will be my fourth episode with these cats (as well as being blessed to work on their current feature) and I have to say, I'm always so impressed.

This last episode was very fulfilling for me. I had the opportunity to work with a very talented actor (Jessica Webb) on some fantastic material. I'm very pleased with how this entire epis

Hope to see some of your work around, too! Once this week of exams are done, I'll be able to check out "By Chance." Thanks again! All the best!
