Learn all about the voice-over business, from technique to marketing and everything in between. This class will prepare you to audition for all sorts of voice over productions such as commercials, narrations, book readings, public service announcements, etc. Through the audio recording of mock auditions you do in class, you will learn how to properly deliver voice over copy. You will also learn the ins and outs of breaking down and reading scripts on your own, preparing for auditions, proper studio etiquette, putting together a demo tape and sending it off, marketing yourself, and more!
Sonny Dufault has been in the voice-over business for 36 years. He got his start as a DJ for two local radio stations before becoming a production engineer at Continental Recording Studios, where he also began doing voice work. He later joined Soundtrack Studios as the chief production engineer and manager, eventually leaving to concentrate on his VO business. He currently owns and operates his own ‘in-house’ studio where he voices and produces radio spots, commercials, and industrials, as well as produces demo tapes for aspiring voice artists. Sonny also currently works as a booth announcer at WBZ Radio.
