Director Bio:
Ryan Bennett (writer, director, producer), is the recent winner of the
2010 Maine Arts Individual Fellowship. He has collaborated with some
of the biggest names in the industry as a feature dailies colorist
with Company 3. In the past two years he has worked on Sorcerer’s
Apprentice, It’s Complicated and The Road.
Film Details:
The short film Ramblin’ Round was recognized by the Maine ArtsCommission with the Individual Artist Fellowship Award in the amount of $13,000. The feature film version of Ramblin’ Round has been selected to be a part of Panavision’s New Filmmaker Program this summer.
Synopsis:
In an enclosed alley, in an unnamed city, Harvey and Edie are living lives of little consequence. Stuck in the routine of life, they travel on the perpetual path to the world of permanent nine-to-fivers, a product of the times experiencing life and adventure vicariously through their favorite form of fiction. But what if they step out of the routine? What then?

Farmer- 40s, Male, Intimidating presence. Aggressive, stubborn, constantly arguing with his wife. (SUPPORTING)
Farmers Wife- 40s. Hostile wife of the farmer. Strong, stubborn and knows how to fight back. (SUPPORTING)
Mrs. Oliphant- Owns the Candy shop. A hard working woman and it definitely shows. She’s been around the block (SUPPORTING)
Bank Teller- (30s) Male, rigid perfectionist, Takes his 9 to 5 very seriously. (SUPPORTING)
Mrs. Herrick- 60s/70s, kind hearted woman, always assumes the best in people. Her husband passed away years ago so she’s been living off of their insurance for the past 15 years. Recently their funds have dried up, so she goes to the bank for a loan. (SUPPORTING)
Anne Marie- (early 20s) young bank teller. Small town pretty girl. Optimistic, a dreamer (SUPPORTING)
Old teller- 60s/70s. Female. She's got chutzpah (SUPPORTING)
Clerk- 20s, Male, stoic. (SUPPORTING)
Aging Security Guard- late 60's Has had this job for far too long (FEATURED)
Edgar Mullholland- 40s, wirey, nervous, small town guy, comedic timing and mustache a plus. (SUPPORTING)
Jeff Clookey- 14-16, boyish, awkward, wants to be a part of the gang. (SUPPORTING)
Doug- 40s/50s. A rough looking character. Knows his cars like the back of his hand (SUPPORTING)
Happy Guy- 20s, train station attendant good looking, romantic, using after hours to woo his gal. (SUPPORTING)
Happy Girl- 20s, good looking, going steady with Happy Guy and loving it. (SUPPORTING)
Two Candy Kids- 7 yrs. old (male or female). All types. Big fans of Mrs. Oliphant’s candy shop (FEATURED)
Boys at the Fence- Ages 8-13. Two boys arguing about a half painted wooden fence who end up in a wrestling match (FEATURED)
Three Uniformed Men- 20s-40s. They hunt down Edie and Harvey with their bloodhound (FEATURED)
Extras- Men, women, boys, girls, families and friends (all ages, types, and ethnicities). People wanting and willing to be a part of a great film in the community.
