DESCRIPTION:Beginner Acting/Improv\nInstructor: Peter Berkrot\nNext Si
 x Week Sessions: Sundays, March 4-April 8, 2012\n(2:00pm - 5:00pm)\nPr
ice $299\nEVERY actor needs to take an Improvisation class. It is KEY
in building confidence, creativity, the ability to think on your feet,
to develop and maintain a character, and in stripping you of inhibiti
ons!In this beginner class, you will be taught the groundwork for soli
d actor training. Through basic acting and improvisational techniques,
you will begin to understand and develop the skills needed to work as
an actor. Your body, voice, intellect, and imagination are the tools
of the craft and learning to use them properly and skillfully is the j
ourney and the goal of the performing artist. Utilizing relaxation and
visualization, movement and play, trust and intimacy, and spontaneity
and discipline, we will open the actor’s toolbox and prepare you fo
r the world of the performing arts.\nPeter Berkrot is a prominent act
ing coach working in Boston and on the North Shore. His acting, film,
voice, and playwriting classes have been offered at the New York Film
Academy, Northeastern University, Bradford College, Boston Casting, Ke
vin Fennessey Casting, Outcasting, The Tannery in Newburyport, and at
his own studio, New Voices-New Visions. He is also an accomplished act
or, director, and writer in the Boston area.\n“Peter’s class was o
ne of the most educational and enjoyable classes I’ve ever taken. I
learned critical acting skills while having fun, often not even being
aware of the lesson until the exercise was complete…then having that
“a-ha” moment. the value of Peter’s 25 years of experience cann
ot be measured. He cares about the success of each student and will go
out of his way to personally assist any/all of them. I recommend Pete
r’s class to students of every level.” J. Summerfield\n“I am tha
nkful to have met and trained with Peter. He takes acting very serious
ly and because of his teaching, I landed a role in an upcoming play. B
oston Casting should feel very lucky to have such a teacher helping ot
her actors learn their craft. I thank you and I thank Peter from the b
ottom of my heart.” Kevin Peterson\n\nREGISTRATION: To register for
